I think that with conf calls, this is specially true. It's just a way for everyone to feel like they accomplished some progress. I don't think that's what actually happens in most cases.

Re: Conference Calls: Threat or Menace?

No, that's okay. don't worry about it. The worst/best thing we've been given at work is Windows Messenger. Tyler and I usually leave it open during the FG calls so if one of us can't quite hear something, we can clarify.

Re: Conference Calls: Threat or Menace?

"without biscuits" merely means "without biscuits provided by THE MAN" so i have no sympathy

Re: Conference Calls: Threat or Menace?

Oops! I wasn't thinking about that honestly! Actually those meetings are very good - because Alex is very good at organising meetings, knows the value of an agenda etc. It's more the "presentation by phone" type that I really dislike - and that's partly because phone and powerpoint are two indifferent tastes that really don't taste great together - you can't tell if your audience are flagging or enjoying it, they miss your visual cues, etc etc.

Re: Conference Calls: Threat or Menace?

You made me cringe for a minute since we were having our conversation outside the conversation today.
